Ok. Sounds like a task for tomorrow night. Thanks for the help.

You know I am still floored that the bike actually ran. There would have been no compression at all. I never took that boot off until tonight so I wonder how long it's been coming loose like that.

Major update. Head had worked completely loose. and was sitting about 1/2 inch off the jug on one side. I have no idea how it was running. On the plus side, the piston moves well in the cylinder which does not appear to be too badly scored. On the down side, head gasket is non existant and I think t...

I do have metric tools. I popped open the carb and the top end/float assembly was rattling around on a couple of loose screws. I think it was running WAY WAY WAY lean and the injector couldn't keep up. If you have the space and you don't mind, some tools/manuals wouldn't be a bad idea. Piss poor tim...

Oh FFS

Hi all So I was riding the P to work today and it started to lose power, make some terrible snappy noises and ultimately died on the side of the road. It kicked over ok but the piston was actually squeaking in the cylinder. Either the oil injector broke (unlikely) or the oil line plugged (slightly m...

What are you talking about. They are so ugly they're beautiful. Sort of like Uma Thurman or Shelly Duval. ;-)

Today's literary treat by H.S. Thompson

I dug this article up when I was responding to a picture Gillian put up on facebook of Sabine looking very Hunter S Thompson. I thought the article had already been posted here but a quick search turned up nothing. TBH I am not a huge fan of Mr. Thompson's work but for some reason this quick hitter ...

Bags are packed. Checklists are checked, rechecked and checked once more so I am sure we will only forget 5 or 10 things. I am feeling a bit ripped off that winter hasn't been the bear that it was last year so I am not really escaping the weather but I will bounce back. Addio miei amici. Wish me luc...

They say "There aint no replacement for displacement" but 28.5 L? That is taking it to the extreme. Still cool though. That would be sooooo loud.

BUT damn you, now I have to step it up for our upcoming 25th....I was thinking a drive to the southside of Edmonton would have made the grade... Yeah, that's not exactly "Bringing your A game" :D Keep those suggestions coming all. I know my way around the north east of the country fairly ...

Yeah I know but how else can I come off all smug about getting to spend my 25th anniversary and christmas in Verona and Florence. Haven't been there since 2000 and when I asked Charlene if she wanted warm or romantic for our 25th she said warm. I replied, "Ok, so Italy is out then. Mexico or Cu...

So I have a question for you foreign linguists. The answer need not be cunning. How do you say "Happy 25th Anniversary" and "Merry Christmas" in Italian. I am going to need to know so I don't sound out of place next month. T ps. I know it sounds a bit gloaty. I can't help myself.
