When i was there i don't even remember seeing the engine side cowl. Most of the parts that came off ended up right near the big garage door entrance. Check around the compressor area.

The battery was loose and not hooked up. Either take it out or strap it up.

Just a couple of weeks ago he had that thing running. I looked around for a carb gasket for him but didn't have one in the garage.

Spin the motor at the very least. Then pull the gas cap off and feel the inside of the tank for rust. I believe the fuel tank is the frame on these mopeds. So tank repair/refurbish will be difficult and expensive. At least this way you know what your getting into. If the engine is free, the tank is ...

New tires, new ubes, new petcock, clean carb then new rebuild parts, new fuel tank cause its rusty, new exhaust cause its plugged up and needs replacing, new lights cause they are all burnt out, motor rebuild cause it was seized, etc..... I think the stock 125 might be boarder line on the slow side. If your after cheap. then i think the LML 150, head, gaskets etc might be the most economical way to go.
