Ha ha, I had a bit of a laugh at my daughter's expense. Hooked up the heated vests and off we went. I am toasty and warm and she is getting crankier and crankier. Beautiful vistas and stunning light bringing nothing but curses and complaints over the intercom.
What the Hoi!
Turns out her vest wasn't working. The connector had pulled off the back of the socket what with all the strapping and unstrapping of the tank bag. I quickly fixed it and her temperament improved as her temperature rose.
Safe but eventful ride home. We were caning it so Em ran out of gas again, NBD (no big deal). I'll have to pull her tank and figure out why there seems to be a reduced capacity and no reserve. Should be simple to sort, he hopes.
Came across a classic tail wagging the dog scenario with a once over lightly SUV and trailer combo. I have a hunch it was not much fun to be in, and that everyone road out in an ambulance.
Lots of deer which was strange as we saw very few in all our travels up till today. One deer/car collision which the deer partly survived. It was on the side of the road when Em and I went by but Janet, James and Josh, who were behind us in the car, were held up as it tried to drag itself across the road on its stomach. As they left the scene, a chap was approaching with an axe to finish it off: not the stuff of a Disney movie but merciful none-the-less.
The only other occurrences were the common place freeway weirdness such as passing a slow vehicle and it inexplicably speeds by only to slow again.
We are fearfully and wonderfully made, but mostly fearfully.

You are 100% correct. My friend was one of the firefighters that was at the scene. A dodge dakota pulling a 28 foot trailer going to fast, was passed by a semi going much quicker than him, and the wagging began. Truck and trailer are a right off, but everyone walked away after shedding some blood. I guess he should have bought a hemi?
