...for making motorized purchases. In spirit, I'll be going to check out a 2007 Yamaha R6 tonight. Not been given a time yet but it'll be on the south side (Terwillager). More experienced eyes than mine would be welcome. If there's any interest, post and we can set up a meet.

Not tonight, sorry. I am running the shop by myself for two weeks. So it's early in, late out and only a few short breaks.

What's the mileage?

I'll spare you the, "Please start with a smaller bike." rant.

I kinda accidentally managed to somehow buy the bike. It's got ~9800km on it.

A buddy bought one new, I'd like to say around 2004 or maybe 2005. Something like 120 or 130 hp. He shit his pants more than couple times riding it. Got into some trouble (speeding and the like) Pretty sure it got stolen and recovered 2 times, but the 3rd time it was gone for good.

If i recall correctly, 100kph comes pretty quick and you still have like 5 gears left after that. Lots of fun for sure.

Another buddy did track racing around Alberta with i think the nearly the same year bike. He entered the 600 class and always doubled up the weekend with the liter bikes. He always placed well even with the liter class. Ya loose on the straights but always catch up and usually pass in the corners.

Take an intermediate motorcycle safety course. Get the gear: no more shorts and flip-flops.

Be careful, I used to ride a 600 and that was no slouch, things have changed alot in 27 years! Know the power is there and learn to respect it.

I found out that the bike had a rebuilt status and made the seller take it back. After that bike, I no longer wish to go fast on anything.

Just as much fun and just enough speed: Ninja 250.

Great bikes with good resale values and cheap insurance.

The R6 kicked the street bike right out of me, so I'll probably hang my metaphorical racing leathers up unless I find something tame that takes my fancy.
