MotoSocial Edmonton Meet-up Thursday May 11 @ Iconoclast 8pm

Post by Paul S »

A Group called MotoSocial is starting an Edmonton Chapter and meeting this coming Thursday night at Iconoclast. They reached out to me via our Social Media and would love for some of us to come out on our scooters or whatever 2 wheelers we want to come on.

MotoSocial (http://themotosocial.com)

We're not a motorcycle meet.
We're a community of rad people who love more than just motorbikes.

EDMONTON!!!!! In case you haven't heard, we've joined forces with @oldirtybenson from @federalmoto & our pal @brettonhammond and together we're bringing #TheMotoSocial your way for the very first time!
.
Come hang with us on Thursday, May. 11, 2017 from 8-10PM at @IconoclastCoffee - 11807b 105 Ave. NW. .
THIS IS A FREE EVENT. EVERYONE IS WELCOME!
.
It doesn't matter what you ride or whether you ride at all. We're more about the people and motorcycles are the common thread. Ride down, walk down, cycle down, skate down, kite surf down, or rollerblade down - it doesn't matter. Just get down to Iconoclast Coffee however you can, find a legit place to park, grab a coffee and a snack and chat it up with all your new pals.
.
Invite your friends, invite your neighbours, invite your parents, grandparents, your parents friends, your sisters friends, your mailman, your barista, your doctor.
.
EVERYONE IS WELCOME!
Bike or no bike.
Just bring the good vibes.
.
We're going to continue hosting #TheMotoSocialEDMONTON on a monthly basis moving forward. The events will be held on the 2nd Thursday of every month from May to September and it will be hosted by a different local cafe or independent business each month.
.
Our goal is to help people connect with one another to help them feel more at home and connected in the cities that they live in. Moving our event around every month allows us all to experience different parts of Edmonton and experience the different independent businesses that are playing a role in shaping the culture of the city.
.
Please spread the word & come hang with us! .
EVERYONE IS WELCOME! BRING THE GOOD VIBES!
.
We're stoked to meet you all.

You mean the Iconoclast parking lot, don't you? They close at 5:00 p.m. according to their website.
Johnny Redbike.

We, the unfortunate, led by the unqualified, to do the unnecessary for the ungrateful.

I assume so unless they have made a deal with Iconoclast to stay open late for their special event. Hoping they have done that. Iconoclast does know of the event because they are posting about it on social media too.

I'm busy all day until 8:30. If I'm not completely fried, I'll pop by on my way home.

Thanks for the heads up Paul. It was good seeing you there. Mike and his father were also there with their early Yamaha 650 and K1 Honda 750. Star of the evening for myself was a rare (because they were crap) and gorgeous Ducati 500 Sport Desmo parallel twin:

They had a poor oil pump design and 90% of them went bang.

Ano, Brant and Paul (Yeanho) were there also. They have come out to special events and weeknight rides and also ride with the Misfyts.

Awesome diversity of bikes with a few scooters thrown in to boot.

I have posted pictures to our Facebook and Instagram accounts:

I didn't count but my guess is close to 100 bikes and Iconoclast must have done great business. They were busy non-stop.

The next one is June 8th. Location is TBD. I will post an event on our Facebook Page once they announce the details.
