I've done business with Alberta Cycle for several years now. Bought my VStrom from them and lots of farkles. As a result, I was pleased to hear that they had taken on the Vespa line recently abandoned by Top Gear when they closed.

My initial enthusiasm was tempered however, upon learning from one of their staff that as of now, they are only carrying oil filters. Yikes! Let's hope this guy was not correct!!!

I didn't expect any different result for stocking parts for a new product line. And if Vespa doesn't make it a criteria of their franchise/authorized service depot certification, (which they should if they want a good reputation)… all we can do is write Vespa/Vespa Canada and express our (polite) ire.

They carried the Yamaha Vino before Vespa, and from a business case, $ talks.

I'm thinking the Scooter Customer Appreciation day is their way of putting out "FEELERS" to see how the community reacts, how large it is, demand etc.

I say we show up in LARGE numbers and double-barrel the stats so they know we DO care, and would appreciate it if they could too…

Yes, and before that, they were the Lambretta dealers in town when the dealership was located on 118 Avenue.

Your suggestion is not a bad one and I am happy to join in, if it improves service for our community.

Thanks Monica for the reminder. I was in Alberta Cycle yesterday and saw the poster. I agree we should attend if possible.

I have a mixed review from yesterday; parts department were very helpful (though I didn't want parts that they don't stock).

Service department, well, they need to look at the sign above their heads...

Scooter Customer Appreciation Day! August 25th

I RSVP'ed to monica@albertacycle.com today (that is the contact they have on their website about the event). I asked how the RSVP's are coming and she said there isn't as many as they were hoping for so far. The are starting to advertise it in the Journal on Friday's and something in the Examiner, plus sending invites to scooter purchasers from their dealership.

So just a friendly reminder to RSVP soon!

The event link on their website has an RSVP button too - apparently there's a T-Shirt involved with a donation for Cystic Fibrosis

Like I need an *excuse* to ride…

The alarm claims it went off, but we didn't hear a thing. Called Alberta Cycle & whoever answered said the ride would likely get back to the store at 1. We'll try to either intercept the ride somewhere or meet up at the Dealership for the BBQ.

Alberta Cycle took us on a really good ride and had a nice BBQ for us. It was well organized and a lot of fun. I think we should re-visit at least some of the route for a club ride.

My thanks to Monica, John, and everyone else at Alberta Cycle for hosting this event-well done!!!

And considering the weather, it was a good turn out (lots of club members too).
