Post by jbcollier »

I am going to be installing my lift tomorrow morning at 10 A.M. I would be grateful for any available helping hands.

Hey John. How'd it go yesterday? I'm back from Calgary for a couple of days then gone again. Are you needing any extra hands today?

My thanks Angelo, Igor, Kevin and Yarko for showing up on such a rainy day: Kevin and Yarko rode! It was all straight forward and the many hands made placing the lift in place an easy task.

It's all starting to come together!

Alas, pride comes before the fall.

When they cut the phone conduit during excavation, they cut a pipe which fed through our foundation and into a storage room wall. Everything was fine until they pulled the old telephone wire out and fed the new wire in without sealing the pipe afterwards!
I discovered the water filled room this afternoon. Mops, cloths, fans to dry the room and a sump pump to drain the puddle where the pipe got cut and everything is now OKish. The contractor came out and shot foam sealer into the pipe from the inside and he will dig down to the other end of the pipe tomorrow and plug it properly.

So tonight we are going to settle down and relax by watching a real slosh-buckler, Waterworld!

Thanks again for your help!!

John,
I'm really sorry to hear about what has happend. That is unreal. I guess nobody expected this much rain but that kind of sounds like a no brainer
to cap the conduit. Damn that's the last thing you needed....
