Ordering from Motorsport Scooters

Post by coyoteran »

Hi all

I am ordering 2 tires and a belt from Scooterwest. When you guys have ordered stuff from them do you recall what shipping and duties worked out to. And did you use UPS or the postal service.

Their website is a little wacked and is quoting me $188 for shipping. Should I be concerned here?

Thanks

Trevor

Phone them.
Ask for Max.
I paid the UPS driver $20 including tip for one tire. I believe UPS was charging for customs excise tax only. I believe the shipping iin itself was free.
Could be because I'm an oft repeat customer, or for being a ModernVespa member.
But talk to Max.

Yes, definitely talk to them over the phone. If you ship UPS, DO NOT SHIP BY GROUND. They will ding you for brokerage fees. It is cheaper to ship expedited as their discounted rate is less than the ground fees plus brokerage.

If you are not in a rush, it is always cheaper by mail.

They suggest you use mail as opposed to UPS. If you order before or on a Wednesday, they say it doesn't make much difference in time (That's their shipping day). I don't remember the actual shipping costs, but like said above...phone the order in, the website prices are screwy.

.....UPS and DHL WILL ding you bad with brokerage if you ship ground. The shock usually comes 4-6 weeks after they deliver or if your lucky they will bend you over upon delivery.....i will never use them again if it involves ground transportation...

Sorry...I never plan my sales... I just do them at the spur of the moment.. usually when I'm bored and I feel like spamming everyone.
