All British Field Meet Saturday June 18

Post by jbcollier »

The organizers of the All British Field Meet have invited us to attend with our vintage scooters. They are also inviting the Vintage Motorcycle club. They would like to have a Mods vs Rockers feel to the our entries and would be delighted if we dressed Mod as well.

More details as I get 'em.

I thought British field meat was a banger of suspicious origin.

Mod, scooter-boy, it's all good. And if John wants to fry sausages on the side, that's good too.

The show has been slowly dying over the years but my boss Bert has taken it over. He has been really good to us what with letting us use the shop for workshops so I'd really like to return the favour by having a good turn out.

Some of us do not have vintage scoots but your help would be appreciated in helping to ferry extra scoots (if you can ride a manual) and help minding the store so we can all get to enjoy the rest of the show.

You can either preregister here:

http://albertaallbritishmotoringsociety ... itish-meet

Or, register at the site on the day.

Pre-registering is preferred.

Sorry but VINTAGE ONLY.

(Italian scoots are welcome as there weren't many British scooters and they want to evoke the whole Mods VS Rockers thing.

The cost is $20 for each participant. Participants can bring multiple vehicles.

The good news? I have secured sponsorship for the scooter club -- thank you Bert (Sportscar Centre)! You still need to go through the registration process (to fill out the waiver) and pay but I will have a fistful of $20 bills to reimburse you at the meet.

Anyone is welcome to attend and it is free to the general public. So all you twist and go riders please feel free to join us. I hope to have a tent and some chairs set up.

Cheers

PS: Let me know in this thread if you're coming with your scoot so I can hit up Bert for enough cash.

Couple of questions if I may:

1. Will those with twist n go scooters qualify for 'vintage only' criteria?
2. Are those who wish to exhibit required to be on site for the full operating hours of the meet?

1) Let's say 1985 and older rather than vintage only.

2) Will check...

Sweet !

I'll have a tent and chairs just in case it's sunny or raining.

So far I have myself, Graham, Angelo and John (the good looking one).

Anyone else bringing vintage scoots?

Anyone planning to visit us and possibly help keep an eye on things?

Bert has generously supported our past rallies -- and is sponsoring us for this event -- so I'd like to return the favour by having as good a turn out as possible.

Cheers

I added an event for this on our Facebook page just to advertise it to people.
