My Vespa is home

Hi Guys and Gals:

Well as you can see by my other post, my LX150ie is finally home where she belongs. Now I want a Stella so I can shift; however maybe shifting is better left as a fond memory.

Picked up my Vespa (Yay!)

Hi guys and gals; Well I finally have it, I have my 2011, LX150ie. It was delivered to Kamloops and so I hopped on the bus and drove it home. Now I do realize that one should break in an engine fairly slowly, and I would have preferred to do it that way; but I had to get it home to Merritt, I don't ...

Vespa ripoff

Hi everybody; Thank you for your input and help. Apparently the only way I will get it is to hire someone to deliver it here for me, but then if they aren't even set up properly what would be the point. Unfortunately my only option is to go there, but then what if it is not ready or as he says "...

Class 6 road test

I videotaped my test, it only took 23 minutes from the engine turning on to the engine turning off (the test is supposed to take 45 minutes). If you have some experience and confidence you will have no problem. Mind you switching my licence to BC, they weren't sure how to do it as I don't drive a ca...

Vespa ripoff?

Hi guys and gals; Well here I am in BC living happily and missing seeing you guys and driving away (I am very antisocial that way). Life is fine and two months ago I bought a Vespa from VespaMetro in Vancouver and paid for it with my mastercard. So far so good. I have been emailing back and forth fo...

2011 LX150

Hi guys and gals; So is everyone else itching for riding weather? I just bought a 2011 LX150. I will be relocating to Merritt and taking delivery on June 1st. It is all I could afford, but will it be enough for short highway jaunts? Basically, is it a good all round scoot? Could you give me you opin...

My 850 (now a huge papperweight)

HI; It started and seemed to work well for the first week (more or less) but when the buyer came to pick it up it would not start and has not started since, so I gave him his money back and now I am the (not so) proud owner of the worlds safest motorcycle,,,, unless it falls over on my toe. So there...

I traded my 83 Mascot 80 for a Midnight Special

Hi; Yes I now have this 81 Yamaha XS850, and I am now sure what to do with it. I have learned that I am definitely a scooter guy. I rode motorcycles through the 80's but now I am older and wiser (and a big scardy cat). My insurance girl said to keep it for a while (before they bill me) and I would l...

Solar done wrong, but it sure is fun

I have always wanted to go on the Solar Tour but I would feel so inadequate, my system is held together with prayer and hope. I am just too stubborn to learn to do it right, mind you if you want to see an accident waiting to happen I will post video of my setup. It is however a great hobby. Keep gre...

My Elite 80 from BC passed the OPI

I took that Elite 80 to Cote Motorcycles for the OPI (out of province inspection) on Friday and it is now legal to ride. Today I found (and bought) a purple 85 Honda Elite 150 (non deluxe). I bought it sight unseen and will be picking it up in a few days, but the price was so good (but not too good,...

I might show up

Hi Guys and Gals: Well my Saga pooped out; the original engine pooped out (i heard from owner #2) at 3100k then was replaced by the dealer. At 2000k it just died so i took the opportunity to get my Hondas (83 Mascot 80, blown rear tire and an 86 Elite 80, needs an OPI) on the road. I just got the El...

Hard luck, but lots of fun

AAAAAARRRRRRGH! Three scooters, my Mascot with the flat rear tire, my Elite 80 that hasn't been inspected yet (OPI), and after putting gas in my main scooter, my carburetor seems to be clogged (something that I have never dealt with). I am however trying to take the rear wheel off of my Mascot to ge...

Picked up an Aero 80

So I picked up that Aero 80 that was in Kijiji this morning. 83, 4009km and just missing the seat latch. The fellow selling it decided to stop riding this year as his balance is getting bad (he is 75). It starts easily and is extremely peppy and fun,,,, well that was until I was taking it home and t...
