Hey everybody, new guy here!
I have been riding scooters on and off since I was 16 years old. Now as a 40 year old fart I am actually scooter less.
Anyhow, my daughter is turning 14 in just a few more weeks. She is busy studying for her class 7 learners. She has been riding with me on my Berverly (Piaggio BV250) since she was 6 years old.
For her birthday present I just got her a 2006 Derbi Atlantis Bullet. Scoot is in good shape with only 1500km and I got it way to cheap.
I am wondering if there are any safety courses in Edmonton for 50cc scooters. I like for her to learn the riding the right way. I checked online but did not find anything for a 14 year old with a 50cc scooter
Thanks for te help
Carsten.

The reason for the 16y is that while she can ride 49cc she still has to be minimum 16y to legally drive MC even with a class 7. The courses I looked at also have rides on the road, which would be illegal for her.jbcollier wrote:Have you tried all the training places? Seems strange that she is old enough to ride but too young to train.
Funny how this all works. I think I have to do the training myself.
Hey Gonzo71, I might know someone - well a couple - who *MIGHT* do some personal 1on1 training, but it would NOT be affiliated with their professional work as an instructor.
PM me and I'll see if I can reach out for you.

Thank you for the offer, let me work with her for a while. She has is not riding the scoot yet as she is still working on her class 7. I have been riding for 25 years myself and once, back during my army time, was a certified instructor myself, but that is 17 years ago and I did not teach for 15 and never took any refresher myself.Macgyyver wrote:Hey Gonzo71, I might know someone - well a couple - who *MIGHT* do some personal 1on1 training, but it would NOT be affiliated with their professional work as an instructor.
