Scooters in the sun

Post by Andrew »

Spain is full of scooters, mainly new ones--though not too many Asian ones--lots of Piaggios and Vespas. I hope this shot comes through; here's a url to my post on fb: http://sphotos-g.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-a ... 7328_n.jpg

Saw new PX 150s for sale for $4700--

Best from sunny Seville![/img]

And here's a review of the 2012 PX 150, probably the last of its generation, as it will not be able to meet next year's pollution standards: http://www.motofan.com/vespa/pk-150/prueba

If I haven't said, "You lucky bastard !" before, please allow me to do so now:

"You lucky bastard !"

Lovely juxtaposition of new and old, thanks.

As far as I remember from reading Scootering, Piaggio has a euro-3 compliant PX in the offing. Again, dimly recalled, it also includes a return to 200 cc. Direct injection two strokes are naturally cleaner than their four-stroke rivals -- as well as more powerful.

While I have never warmed to the PX looks, they are hands down the best of the manual scooters in both power and reliability.

I shall echo that, you lucky...

If you are in Seville for a couple of days and would like to see where the locals go for flamenco you must go to La Carboneria ( Calle Levies 18 ) it's in the Barrio de Santa Cruz area. Ph# 95 421 44 60
It is dfficult to find but worth the effort. Look for a big red door with #18 above it; there is on other signage and it is easy to walk right past it. Things really get going at 10 pm (first show) and goes till 4 am.

OK--now THIS is why this club is so extremely excellent: I post a lousy pic and I immediately get two replies in great depth, one adding to the local knowledge about Piaggio's PX plans and another recommending a hot tip for flamenco in Seville! Amazing! If I can stay up past 10:00, Dave, I'll be heading over there one night soon...

Especially for scooter and Smart Car nuts (three in a row, all crunched; the first is a ForFour): http://sphotos-e.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-a ... 8852_n.jpg

Someone tell me how to rotate images posted to fb, please!

Husqvarna, KTM, Athena, and possible others are looking at two stroke direct injection.

Do try and go Andrew, even for "just one drink"
Did I mention there are two stages, with shows nearly every night? As you enter the first room, you also step back about 200 years, this has the smaller stage. Make your way to the "newer" larger room for the big show. But, do go back and forth between sets as I have seen amazing talent on both stages.
And, did I mention it's free!
