ignition points and condensers locally?

Post by GregD »

Hey guys, is it possible to buy a set of ignition points and a condenser locally? I'm rebuilding my engine (px150) - there are more wires coming out than there should be and someone recommended getting new stuff over on the modern vespa forum (http://modernvespa.com/forum/topic111041) to make sure it all works. I have no problem ordering, it would just speed things up if I was able to go pick it up..

A PXi50 has electronic ignition: no points, no condenser.

It's a 1979, no battery. Mabey I should have been clearer and reposted the pic from the other forum.

A 1979 would make that a p150x. px150's started in 1985. I'd just buy it all online from scooterwest(california) or sip(germany). They're both quick. I've had parts in less than a week. SIP had parts to me in 3 days, but you pay more for shipping/duty.

Look at the points. Are they pitted? If not, just lightly clean them up with a metal nail file and reuse them -- they last a long time usually. If the points are OK then the condenser probably is as well.
