can we help out a newb

Post by bjorn »

Hi all, long time no see. I recently sold my bike, Jeff s old one to an employee of mine. Thanks to John for helping me get it running. Well today Jerry decided to install a new battery in the scoot. He is not very mechanically inclined and while he could disconnect and install the new battery, there was a rubber boot on the positive cable that had a - symbol on it, I wish I had been there. Regardless, he hooked it up and went to kick it over and zap, he fried two wires on what I believe is the voltage regulator. I will help him replace the butt connectors and wire that was fried, do you think that voltage regulator was fried as well and does anyone have any suggestions for me to help Jerry out. He is eager to meet and ride with all of you so any input would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
