A foot pedal brake would be great. We'll see how it goes. You can also convert them to a front disc brake which would help as well. First we'll see how they like it, then sort issues as they arise. If they are both keen, we'll add another TNG to the fleet, possibly an ET2.

Janet has always been keen but there was no way she would actually try it until James was fully weened (almost there!). She really dislikes being a passenger. For some reason she finds it demeaning. Fingers crossed, it all goes well.

Heather feels the same way. She was happy to ride her own bike back in the early 90s, before kids, but dislikes being a passenger, probably for the same reason.

Changed the gear oil and the engine oil. The engine oil was particularly black so I ran the new oil for 10 minutes or so and then drained it again. I also drained the fuel tank, filled it with premium, ethanol-free fuel and added a generous helping of Sea Foam.

Next on my list is to secure a service manual and an air filter. Once I have the manual, I'll check the valve clearances and flush and refill the cooling system.

Janet had her first ride today, just up and down our block. A little exciting at first until I explained how to lean the scoot to start a turn. After that, no problems. She is even more excited now! Holy Doodle!!

I'd come for a fix and a ride this weekend, but we're tied up all weekend. Maybe we can look at it next week and a ride next Sunday… pre-Thanksgiving?! Pumpkin Spice ride

We'll just take it easy and work slowly up to riding on the streets. Might take the scoot across the street for her and then she can mess about a bit in WP.

Sheesh, it's liquid cooled even. A brilliant little set up with the rad mounted in front of an engine mounted fan. Flushed the system and changed the coolant as it's eight years old.

Will probably drive the scoot across the traffic circle on Sunday afternoon and let Janet loose in WP for a while -- depending on how cold it is, of course.
