Welcome, 2016 riding season

Post by redbike »

Had a quick boot in late February to try out the 100 Sport but I had my first proper ride today in the sunshine. Was out for a couple of hours. The Roads are dry now, but there's still a lot of gravel in the centr portions of the lanes. A little caution is needed, but I was certainly not the only one out today. Happy times!

All the bikes are either clapped-out and thrashed 50s or hogs. Both are ridden by, almost exclusively, helmet-less riders in a manner rather alarming.

I miss my scooters and the crew I ride with.

Could we ship our scoots out here? I mean most of us have multiples after all!

Just put 30 km on the Zündapp in the lull between rainy cold fronts today. Might be fuelling a bit lean judging from higher rpm response at the top of gears 1-3. Had it closing in on 80 km/h on Dallas Road, until a geriatric intervention occurred... and I learned that this German baby has excellent braking! Excellent torque and power for a 150, even uphill with Heather riding pillion. Idle is a tad erratic (stalled twice at stoplights). Bar-end mirror is a pain.

Why not just keep a fleet of scoots in Victoria? Closer than Hawaii, if not quite as warm.
