1981 peugeot moped value please
I am doing work for a lady and she has a 1981 peugeot scooter in the garage that has been off the road since 2005. She said it needs a petcock to work. Also both tires are flat. She wants to trade work for it but neither of us have any idea of the value. Any help would be greatly appreciated
Hmmmm.
New tires, new ubes, new petcock, clean carb then new rebuild parts, new fuel tank cause its rusty, new exhaust cause its plugged up and needs replacing, new lights cause they are all burnt out, motor rebuild cause it was seized, etc..... I can just imagine how bad it could be.
I'll give ya $50 sight unseen.
If ya want to know a reasonable value your gonna have to do a little better than that. Model Number ? Engine seized ? Pics ? Rust ? Damage ?
A couple hundred bucks at best if its a super awesome running Peugeot 103

Spin the motor at the very least. Then pull the gas cap off and feel the inside of the tank for rust.
I believe the fuel tank is the frame on these mopeds. So tank repair/refurbish will be difficult and expensive.
At least this way you know what your getting into.
If the engine is free, the tank is clean and it has star mags come find me. Lets make a deal.
Offer her $400 I'll give ya $500. Easiest $100 you'll make.
If some how include an old family pic of someone with the moped I'll add $50.
If the engine is not free half the price, if the tank is rusty, half the price, if wheels are hub and spoke half the price. (all three ? you pay me)
People asking $1500 or even more than $2000 for stock mopeds that need work are out of their minds. $2000 is getting very close to better more capable scooter territory.
If its super awesome or hella rare then that is a different story.
Sorry, but a '81 103 SP is neither of these.
