BBQ at Raz and Marissa's tonight! (Thursday July 7th) at 7pm

Post by Paul S »

The Italians are coming!

Giorgio messaged me this AM and said they are 650km outside of Edmonton and expect to be here sometime tomorrow (Thursday).

I probably won't know what time they are arriving until Thursday morning though.

When they arrive I plan to meet them on scooter somewhere and then ride with them to Raz's or to some other destination depending on the time. If you want to join us send me your email or cell# and I can let you know where we are meeting them. I will also post here in the Forum any meeting time/place to ride with them in.

Raz and Marissa may not be home until 6pm so we may need to keep them entertained until then. Maybe a trip to the Italian Centre? We can see how they are feeling and what they want to do.

The BBQ at Raz & Marissa's will start at 7pm. What better Canadian welcome is there?

It is BYOB and potluck BBQ.

The Vespa Club of Canada contacted CTV Edmonton about their arrival. I also have some newsroom contacts that I passed the story on to. Not sure if they will cover it or what parts they want to cover but I can update here when I hear any news.

I just did an interview with the Edmonton Journal about Giorgio and Guliana, and some background on our club (as much as I know anyway).

They would like to interview Giorgio and Guliana sometime tomorrow. Most likely before the potluck as their deadline for a July 7th news story is somewhere between 5-6pm. So if they come in early enough they will do an interview somewhere with them. If not they may come to the potluck and do an interview and get some photographs there (if that is okay with us).

No update on their location tonight yet.

I just chatted with Giorgio. They are staying the night in Maidstone, SK. They think the 305km journey will take them about 10 hours. He thinks a 7pm BBQ is great and that they should make it. He was very appreciative for us hosting them.

I was thinking a few of us could ride out on the highway and meet up with them perhaps. Anyone interested?

I gave them Raz's address just in case we don't connect with them on the highway they can drive straight there.

Giorgio has asked if we can find him some 2 stroke oil

He is looking for
4L 100% Synthetic
AMS OIL Interceptor is the picture he sent me but he said something similar would do as well.

Can someone bring this tonight or let me know the best place to pick it up and what brand you think would be good.

UPDATE: Shannon is getting the oil (Thanks!)

Cycle Works is the only place to get 2T Amsoil in town. You might increase numbers tonight by posting an address.

Guess Paul thought y'all knew where Raz lives!

Im thinking its 7420-83 St NW (Paul said 7430, buuuut that's not right)

I'm sitting out front in my car. Raz thought he'd be home around 6…

The scoots are just getting to the East side of Sherwood Pk heading south on Hwy 21 now (6pm).

I found something similar as Cycle Works was out of the 4L bottles. I'll bring it with me tonight.
