kelowna bound

Post by Angelo »

Arrived yesterday around 3.30pm. 12 hrs including Rest breaks ( not bad while driving with 3 lovely ladies with weak blatters ) arrived to fricken beautiful weather, the air alone was bath water warm. I have just spent 6 hrs pool side in my quest to become a lobster by tonight...

IF one were to make a wrong turn ( navigator error NOT driver ) and stummble upon a stretch of road that should be explored on 2 wheels, then the stretch of road between kamloops and merrit ( highway 5c) is one that should be. Beautiful views that remind me of areas in the napa valley and stretches that remind me of areas near Lake Como in Northern Italy........ It took 3 well positioned punches ( lovely wife she is ) to my right shoulder to break me out of my trance and realize that a fully loaded odyssey ( lambretta + 4 humans) was not designed for such twists and turns.....but I did have fun for awhile, and judging by the roller coaster scream coming from the back seats the girls enjoyed it as well...

See you soon!
Cheers

Auto speed control, very nice, and interactive as well! It is an amazing road with those gorgeous high speed sweepers. Enjoy yourself on the way home.

Kelowna is at 1200 feet and humid while Edmonton is at 1800 feet and dry. I know you have done some jetting changes to suit Edmonton so be careful in Kelowna. If you brought spare jets you might want to richen up a step or two.

Enjoy!

up jetted 1 more, played with the idol mixture and she rain very well. I haven't been on so many hills in my life and she held her own. I ran her "sans panels" today and that was a big help. I have to believe if I hadn't done this that the result would have been ugly. Daaren almost burnt his leg getting off his SS after our 1 1/2 run his panels got so hot. Temps were in excess of 34 today and little to no wind, lots of fun. I'm going to leave a piece of her in Kelowna though as I lost the tail lens cresting one of the hills, I almost took some ones eye out! Wish you were all here, the rides are great!

Cheers

Sounds like a great time to jump in the lake!

Glad you brought the jets along. Running a hopped up two-stroke is an involved process, fun and interesting with never a dull moment.

Enjoy!

Everything OK? I hope the fire is not affecting you and your family.

The fire started in an area called Glen Rosa and hoped to another area, both area's directly across the Lake from us. The wind although was blowing it north so although you could smell the fires they weren't affecting the area we are in. There was a nice coating of ashes on the Van this morning. It has since jumped to another area so they are now working on controlling 3 different areas. There is an evil looking cloud covering a good portion of the sky above Kelowna. Not nice. 6500 houses were potentially in danger, I have no idea how many were directly affected by the fires.

This morning breakfast for the rally was pretty casual, just hanging out, last night went pretty late, there was much fun and laughter even though the fires were in everyone's converstion.

Doctor Lambretta ( Daaren ) took lefty out for a ride this morning. He came back with praises. Said it was dailed in perfectly, felt it ran really solid and there were not flat spots with acceleration as he went through the gears. You really have to hear Orange crushed as a spectator, because today I realised how loud mine is as I could hear him ripping around 3 blocks away!

See you guys on the weekend
Ciao
