Winter Workshop Announcement

Post by jbcollier »

We'll be having a club workshop on Sunday, Jan 30 at noon at my work. We will be working on Igor's Lambretta/Servetta to sort out his electrics and time his engine.

With a little luck, it will burst into life rather than flames. Either way, a good time will be had by all.

My work is located at 12116 - 121a St. If you have not been there before, please look at the link below as it is quite tricky to find the first time:

http://maps.google.ca/maps?f=q&source=s ... L+0E2&z=16

It's really more of a glorified alley than a street.

Could those of you kind, heaven-sent lords and ladies who delight in distracting us with tasty delights of near perfect confectionaries please coordinate your well- beloved efforts? Alas, I am weak and fearfully made and go all to pieces after six doughnuts.

I'll be there with bells on and the timing disc hanging from my neck like Flavor Flav's clock...

Cheers

A little light reading to prepare you for the weekend's workshop:

Being And Nothingness by Jean-Paul Sartre

Utilitarianism by John Stuart Mill

Critique of Pure Reason by Immanuel Kant

The Communist Manifesto by Karl Marx

Tao Te Ching by Lao Tzu

and, after you have suffered through all that,

Why Bad Things Happen to Good People by Mark D. Bristow

And I can't get this damn song out of my head:

For goodness sake, don't let me have too many doughnuts!

Now If he was riding your D, he would have caught her!

I dunno, they weren't that fast in the day. I just read a series 2 TV175 as having a top speed of 65 mph. Well I Laughed So Hard I Blew Milk Out My Nose (WILSHIBMOMN) over that one. I think a stock D was good for 45 mph if there was a tailwind.

Still, she wasn't pedalling that hard, I guess he might have caught her after all.

Nice tunes, Meaghan Smith has a "vintage" sound to her music, that's why you can't get the song out of your head.

I like their sound, too:

They are a little older (and wider) now:

However, Meaghan Smith, babe, bicycle, really the only thing missing is chinotto!

Well, that was a good bit of fun. Thanks to everyone who came out. It is always nice when things work out with the scoot as well! Igor now has ignition and lighting in abundance.

My goodness, another Lambretta up and running. Soon our club will have the most running Lambrettas in the Canada, if not the world ;-)

I also ticked off another of my "Must-Dos-Before-I-Die", I had an Ironman themed cupcake. Had I known that they were that tasty, I would have had one long ago. Thanks Audrey!
