Well I just came back....

To say hello.

The wife and I just spent 7 days in Cozumel. For me it was a dedicated dive trip, while Char spent her days strolling the streets, chatting with the Yucatan indians and soaking up the sun.

NSR...17 Dives, wreck dive, night dive, drift dives, cavern dives, fantastic.

SR...Everybody on the island drives a scooter. Mostly honda and yamaha twist and gos. A ton of chinese bikes that I have never seen. Saw 2 vespas in 7 days and they were ET4s. The interesting part though was the extent the scooterista would go to make their bikes as quiet as possible. It was quite the contrast. The most tricked out bikes, stretched (no shit, stretched scooters. Mostly ruckuses but others as well), modded, custom painted, were silent. Apparently noise isn't a fashion statement on the Island of Swallows.

Looking into visa requirements as we speak. :)

There should be some kind of bylaw against making a scooter quiet... I thought loud pipes saved lives? It sounds wholly unreasonable to allow that to continue.

Sounds like an awesome trip, I could do with some sun and scooters.
All hail Emperor Kang!
