Lambrtta Gear box
I may need a gear box for my Li 150 Special Lambretta. I have found a few used ones, but I would like to buy new. I looked at 12 to 15 sites on line in both the U.S. and the U.K. All I was able to find new, was some individual parts like 1st or 2nd gear and such. Is anyone know where I can find a new complete gear box? Thank-you

If you can't find a good used set of Italian gears then your choices are limited. Casa lambretta offers Indian made gear sets for an LI150

A good set of used original Italian gears would give you your best fit and give you a better chance of finding the proper gear ratio for your model.
With Casa it is hit and miss if they have the parts and sometimes very long waits for ordered parts. Good luck

Thanks Angelo, I spoke with Chris from Lambretta Scooter Parts in the U.K. and he thought that I may be able to use a GP gear box, but would need to speak to his mechanic to confirm. I know that the GP has a different gear ratio, but I don't know how well it all fits together. I was hopeful that the seller of my Lammy would find the original gear box, but who knows if or when that will happen.

I did speak to him early this morning and he did have some Indian gear boxes in stock. He told me that as you may know, it is hit and miss with the Indian parts. Sometimes the fit is good, other times, not so good. But with some effort they can be made to work. Jet 200 may have something for me as well, I am waiting to find out the details. As always, I appreciate your input Angelo, thank-you.
