CCSC Workshop May 22
Hi Everyone,
We are going to have a close look at Bjorn's Vespa (Jeff's old scoot: 8" converted to 10" with an LML 5 port engine). There's a few issues to sort out in the running dept. and the usual cable adjustments.
Everyone's welcome and appreciated. It will be this Sunday, May 22, 10 pm. at my work place (Sports Car Centre 12116 - 121a St). Please google map it if you haven't been there before as it can be a bit tricky to find the first time.
Cheers,
John

A little late with the response. I guess there had been some "specialized" welding on the fork and the hole where the speedo cable passes was obstructed causing the cable to kink and not spin freely. Sounds like Bjorn is aware and has taken care of the problem....jbcollier wrote:I remember you telling me this a while a go but I can't remember why. Had the fork been welded at one time, obstructing the inner channel?

Holy Doodle, that was the busiest workshop ever. We fixed up Bjorn's Vespa (cables, electrical, extend stand, tweak carb, etc), pulled the crank and bearings out of an engine from a friend of Igor's and Graham washed his cases -- sorry I forgot to measure your gearbox endplay!
Amazingly, it all went very well indeed. Can't wait until the next one!

Thank you so much for your time and more so, your knowledge. I learned so much about my bike and the maintenance needed to keep these running. I've gotta say I'm not entirely happy about my fork swap, I think you are right, the bearings are just in wrong and I'm gonna have to take it apart again, hope I don't screw up all the good you did today. I really hope you and your wife take me up on that offer. Cheers!
P.S. I was blown away at how stunning Igor's bike was, that is something to strive for.
