Sorry to hear that, hope she is feeling well soon!

Spark plug access for my S150 is the same-very tight.
She may have noticed that there is a small plastic cover above the spark plug, about 2"x2" that slides up and out to provide the best possible access.

Thanks David. I'm feeling better now, but I hear the worst is yet to come. The bruises are special colours, and I have less respect for some nurses than before. Sad I work for them, and the batch on my unit last night were less than stellar. :x

BAHAHAHA! Nope! No cover on mine! Hatchet job by the last owner I suspect. Lucky me I have Paul's intact mint beauty to compare to.

Two hours to put a plug back in? Ridonkulous! Just could not line it up to catch a thread.

Plug was wet & oily, right up the threads. I'll check the gap and see if I should pull the engine for seals/gaskets etc. Maybe I'll limp along until the fall. Idle is low and a tad rough. Geez, to get the spark plug wrench off… I thought I was going to either have to bust the plug, or over tighten the thing. Design fail. An access hatch might have been helpful. :(

Our thoughts are with you, get well soon!

The ET4s and all the LX150s I have worked on do not have an access hole. Must have added it for the S150 (which I think is what David has). It is tight. I have special spark plug sockets designed for the tight access around aftermarket exhaust headers. They work a treat, just a few minutes to change a plug.

Before you remove and strip the engine, let me have a look at it! Might be something simple. We were going to get together for a look-see but never did get around to arranging a time. Everything is up in the air right now but I'll know better after Tuesday evening what my schedule is for the next three weeks.

Thanks John! I can wait, I'm in no rush for a tear-down. :) Truthfully, not sure I'm in a rush for a ride in the near future either. :?

We used the wrench from Paul's under seat kit. I'd be grateful to see what you have/recommend for a wrench. I'm positive my socket would never fit in there. And I'm never averse to buying good tools if I'm going to use them! ;) heh.

Cheers
