Sounds good to me. I'm not sure how early I will be able to make it home either of those days, but I'll try my hardest to make it work.

Hey Audrey,

I have had a yawning hole suddenly appear in my social calendar. How are you for having a go at the fuel tap this Monday evening?

Sorry about all the short notices!!!

It lives... again?

Audrey's Sparkle scoot is back up and running. There was something up with the fuel tap. Strangely, the fuel in the hose wouldn't rise to the level of the fuel in the tank. We pulled the tap and stripped it down, blew it out and checked it carefully. We did not find anything obvious but we might have blown out some debris without noticing. Regardless, it works now.

Igor, Al or Graham, when you get the chance, could you take Sparkle for a spin? I don't know how well it runs compared to a normal P200. Seems a bit slow to me but then I ride smallies ;-)

I didn't try it out last night, because it looked like rain. I assumed I was testing the Gods by riding when it looked like rain, and the last thing I wanted to be was 10 miles from home, pushing a scooter...in the rain.

I'm about to take it out now though, fingers crossed!

Stay tuned for updates as we recieve them.

Thanks for coming out again John, it is always appreciated.

So I took Sparkle Motion for a quick ride around the block (all 7 miles of it).

It chugged out once in 4th, I opened the reserve up and shifted to second (And I shifted to second because last time it was chugging out, second and first were the only gears it wouldn't do it in). Reserve did seem to take longer to kick in for some reason, but it DID kick in and I continued on. This might be attributed to paranoia. Rode home mostly in third (again paranoia), but did take it up to 4th a few times, and it had no further problems other than 4th seemed sluggish again, but no worse than before any of this started.

When I got home, I checked the tank...it was legitimately low on gas, so I feel cautiously optimistic about it still. I pulled the cowl and looked at the gas line, there was gas up to the carb, but there was some bubbles of air where the gas line bends (gentle bend, no kinks), near the big rubber hose (Sorry, I don't know what it's called :\) How acceptable is that?

Anyways, it seems to be ok, but I'm still a little hesitant to say it's good. Any thoughts/opinions/utter BS appreciated. :D

Cheers

The fuel was low so it would have gone on reserve fairly soon so no need to worry there. Air bubbles in the fuel line are not unusual either as all taps have an air bleed (the long pipe).

Keep riding it.

... after you fill it up!

... and watch the oil level, too!
