Only a minor bit of metal flexing and bashing. Irony of ironies, the head pipe fell off 4 times while I was riding the bike but when I actually wanted it to come off, big fight.
Bike starts better. Breaths better and pulls harder. Haven't done a plug chop yet but I don't think it will be an issue. Best $105 upgrade I have done to a vehicle yet.
Front breaks, headlight and body stuff are next. Have the parts but don't have the time.

Vy is it vee get too soon olt and too late schmart?
Nice...I loved my Sito plus, but enjoy my new found ground clearance more! it just cut my ground clearance by 1 1 /2 inches since it really wasn't designed for an 8" bike. It was a cheaper fix to go with a stock box then to convert the vespa up to a 10".....sure miss the pop pop pop when backing off the throttle...
I got a line on a P200, just deciding how much trouble I want to get into..
Where did you find the fuel leak?

The fuel leak was from a bit of gunk in the needle. All good now. Although I thought I was having a fuel flow problem last night as the bike stalled at an intersection a couple of times. Turns out I was right, in a sense. I was out of gas....
Lucky it died right at a station.
Started to get hard to shift in the last few miles home last night. Not sure what what was about. 1-2 was fine but downshifting or trying to shift into neutral became problematic. I suspect a loose cable but anything is possible on this bike.
Regarding the P you found...are you going to break with tradition and buy a bike that is actually younger than you are? Wow...the luxury of it all.

shifting problem solved. Clutch cable was about to break. It was the only one I didn't replace when I did the others. It broke in the driveway this morning. Excellent timing. Replaced it. Took the opp to replace the headlight as well.

Good news it happened at home, a few months ago I lost the clutch cable coming up out of the river valley, it was a long ride home. I never once stopped, but had to take the loooooooooooooooooong way home!coyoteran wrote:The fuel leak was from a bit of gunk in the needle. All good now. Yes I'm thinking of breaking with tradition, Everyone that I talk to is telling me that P's are getting to be quite collectible......I'm just not sure I can handle blinky things on my bike, what the heck am I supposed to do with my left arm?

Its funny you mention that. I was at Sportique the other day looking for a part and they tell me, "Yeah, they are making that part again...actually, they are making a lot of P series parts again."Angelo wrote: Yes I'm thinking of breaking with tradition, Everyone that I talk to is telling me that P's are getting to be quite collectible......I'm just not sure I can handle blinky things on my bike, what the heck am I supposed to do with my left arm?
That bodes well for restore jobs. The SIP catalog for the P is huge. Regarding your left arm...just do what I do. Leave the front signals working and turn off the rear signals so you have to use hand signals. Works well at intersections and on the fly.
