New chain and sprokets for wee-strom

Post by redbike »

I'm at about 20K on my original chain. Can't say it needs adjusting particularly often, but I'm not happy about guilding the lilly - pushing my luck as it were.

Suzuki has a kit, including DID chain, and front /rear sprockets.

I've not done this job before and don't have a chainbreaker either. Is it the kind of job I should just let Alberta Cycle do, or is there maybe another place that could assist.....(insert mysterious sounds here)....under the guidance of, maybe a past-master of the dark arts......

Seriously, if its beyond the pale, my labout costs at AB Cycle will be about 2 hrs, so not the end of the world to pay for the service . I would prefer to learn how to do it myself though and know that it was done properly...hint hint

If what you request happens, I'd love to watch the magic unfold...

How much of a rush are you in? A couple of weeks out OK? I'm doing Yarko's engine this weekend.

Not in a rush, particularly. So you're thinking the weekend of October 8th? I can do the Sunday (9th) if that works, or the following weekend if that's better for you, John.

Definitely the following weekend which would make it Sunday the 16.

Consider it booked!

Don't think this Sunday is going to work out too well after all. I have to take a dog out to the Training Centre in the early afternoon. The dog is being placed with a client and so the hand-off might take awhile.

If that happens, god forbid, there's always the spring.

I'm in Montreal this coming weekend, John, so it won't work either. Let's just figure on the spring. Cheers.
