Servetta and 90 in Spruce Grove

Post by Andrew »

The guy selling the Servetta and Vespa 90 in Spruce Grove
(http://edmonton.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehicl ... Z399264320)
does not seem to be in too big a rush. His phone was 'down' yesterday during our ride. I spoke with him later and asked if today would work; he said yes. Now he is not answering texts or calls. So I conclude that he is busy with his long weekend and not too terribly interested in selling--

Still nothing from Chris in Spruce Grove. I'll try him again later. It would be interesting to see them, in any case.

Spruce Gove ride Thursday!

Post by Andrew »

Chris in Spruce Grove has finally got back to me about the Servetta and Vespa 90. I propose an outing this Thursday Aug 9th to see if they are interesting, leaving from the west end Wild Earth -- kickstands up at 5:00. If you want to come a little bit later, directions are:

Go west on Hwy 16 to Hwy 44; take 44 north for 1 km. 2nd left, says Harris Acres, turn left into it; #7 Harris Acres (7th house on left).

I rode both the Servetta and the Vespa. Both run; neither would pass an OOP as they are now. Vespa needs front brake shoes, kill switch, mirror. Servetta ran fine. Both were tuned by Top Gear last year some time, and had new tires. Both have more recent paint jobs, and not too nice either. Servetta has banged up left cover. I imagine they are both worth around $1500-2000, but both need to be gone through thoroughly.

I'd be happy to go out again another time to see them if anyone else would like to go. It's a nice ride from St. Albert west on Meadowview Drive to Hwy 44. And if anyone else wants one (or both!), go for it--I'm on the fence.

P.S. Sorry to anyone who might have been waiting for me at 5 at Wild Earth: there was an accident on Groat and it took me 20 minutes just to get from one end of River Road to the other.
