How to speed up a 2009 Vespa 50cc LX 4 Stroke?

Folks,

Any advice on how to speed up a 2009 Vespa 50cc LX? Is it better to sell and buy a bigger bike or are there mods that would be fine (70cc kit). What shops in Edmonton would do any modifications if that is the suggested route. The owner is not keen on doing the work himself.

if you love the bike, put the money into it (probably the other side of a grand), if you just want to go faster get a bigger bike. As for where to take it, Alberta Cycle is the Vespa dealer in town.

Buy a bigger bike. The mods are a headache and not worth it. Alberta Cycle is the Vespa dealer, but I'm not sure they can or will do modifications to a scooter.

Four stroke 50 Vespas are not worth hopping up. Sell it and buy a bigger scoot. The 150 Vespa is a night and day difference better.

Things that i have read about the LX 50's

1. spacer restriction on the front pully (lets you go over 60kph)
2. change out to performance Variator kit (more stop speed)
3. 80cc kit + cam (more power = more speed)
4. CDI mod or swap (allows for more RPMs = more speed)

i havn't read anything about a performance exhaust.

All this and ya might get to 80kph

Much less head ache to sell and upgrade to a 150

Find yourself a used ET4 or even a kitted ET2. They will be faster, cheaper and more reliable than hopping up that LX50. Used ETs are cheap as chips and, in my humble opinion, a better looking bike. No bias here at all.
