SIP Order anyone?

Post by Macgyyver »

The new-to-me Vespa needs windshield. I'm a pansy, yes, I know, and I'm ok with it.

If anyone's thinking of ordering anything, maybe we can split the shipping/duty/brokerage pain?

Let me know!

Cheers

Hey Monica,

I'm putting in an order to SIP next week if you wanted to add your windshield to it.

Anyone else need to order anything? Let me know and I can add it to my order so that we can split the shipping and brokerage.

Here's the levers you'll want:

Pricey but work a treat.

Yes, definitely Shannon! I will get something together as soon as I can.

Thank you John!! I need some bumpers too. I didn't find the part # in the manual, so I wasn't sure if I'd have to hit a wrecker! Cool! Levers too? SWEET! my short fingers are delighted, but I'm going to go broke…

The seat buffers above are for an ss90/50. I don't think they will work on yours. Use "seat buffer" to search for the ones suitable for your model.

Ok, the part # I found for the LX150 is 296456, except when I type it in at S.I.P. it brings up the same part! Interesting! Double checked from Scooterwest. It's $5.95 from them.

Thanks John,

I was looking at those levers, but couldn't decide if I wanted them or regular dog leg levers. What is the advantage of the ones you posted? I can see they are adjustable, but does that make a lot of difference compared to normal dog leg levers?

Will they also fit barrel end cables? They look like they have a slot at the back of the lever (of course the part I can't see that well.)

Speaking of cables ... I'm ordering some. Do I just need the 3 (clutch, front brake and back brake)? After seeing the broken cables at the rally I thought it might be a good idea to have some as back up for Tiki.

Very easy to adjust one way or the other with no fiddling. With doglegs, you have reduced travel with no option of going back if you might need it.

Shannon, if your ordering inners and outers then get all 5. (the whole set)

Clutch, front brake, rear brake, throttle and 2x gear cables. (a choke cable might be in there too) so maybe 6 cables.

Clutch is usually the one that breaks. (I have found)

If ya just want to carry minimum to get by till a reorder is done, then 1 clutch inner , 1 gear inner (can be trimmed to fit others), 1 throttle.

If one was really cheap and wanted to play with fire, pick up one long bicycle cable and trim it to fit what ever cable breaks. This should only be a temporary fix to get ya home or to the shop.

Excellent. I'll put the order in this week. Why do you not want me to use UPS?

Are these the flag poles you were wanting to order?

Kevin:

Would this cable kit the right one for Tiki or should I order individual cables?
