Day 2 of my captivity

Post by coyoteran »

Ok, ok, it's not as bad as all that. Very uneventful trip to Lethbridge on Sunday. Mounted the spare tire badly before I left Edmonton and scarred up the front fender on the yeti. Hey, how hard can it be to colour match pearl white paint.....

Sleepless night on Sunday evening sweating every little detail about the impending customs marathon set for early Monday morning. Drove right up to the border gate at 9:40, nobody in the car lineup, and were on the road on the mercan side at 10:20. Apparently a military I.D. carries a bit of weight with these folks as they expedited the paperwork and had us on our way lickity split.

Took the vespa off the trailer and burned around Helena for a couple of hours yesterday. If you get the chance to drive through the mountains north of Helena on a bike, take it. Tight, twisty, rolling, constant elevation changes. Spectacular views.

The rest of Montana was very pretty. Like driving throught the foothills mixed in with huge mesas and buttes all over the place. 75mph highways. Got a flat on the trailer about 80 miles from our destination. Broken valve stem. Money well spent buying the spare before we left. More vespa rides tonite in Sheriden WY. Totally geared up. Jacket, helmet....safety sandels. And being sneered and snorted at by every helmetless harley driving wanker in town. And laughing all the way.

Thats it for now. L8r t8rs.

Hey Trevor I'm glad to hear that the crossover wasn't as horrific as it can be. I have heard many cases where hours (4-5) pass in these situations, but then again like you said not everone carries around a Marshal Trevor badge...

I love your trailer. You will have to send me the details of where you got it when you settle down. It's days like today when I'm making plans to fit the lambretta into the van and travel with 4 that make me wish It was set up as you are...

Safe travels and keep us informed on the rest of your trip...

Ciao

Yeah, Montana's a great place to ride. Mind you, nothin shabby bout Idaho and Washington either. Happy trails.
