I could not help stopping in at the Peugeot dealer where I snapped the shot of that cute little white moped last week. There I became acquainted with their full line up, including a big-wheeled 125 that looks like a Scarabeo: the Peugeot Tweet. It is a badge-engineered SYM Symphony 125. The reason I am posting this is that it retails in France, with a two-year warranty (backed by a real dealer network!) , for under $2700. Seriously, folks we are overpaying substantially for new scoots... and their next model up, the LXR, is not much more expensive either.

The reason this winds me up right now is that my daughter has outgrown her excellent BWS50 and wants suburban/freeway access (for some reason, most of her pals live outside the Whitemud, in River Band, or in some other remote location not accessible by 50-cc power...). And she has discovered just how expensive it is to drive around the Prairies in the old Volvo wagon John helped get ready for her...
So: if anyone has a line on a nice recent twist-n-go of 125 cc and up, or a smaller motorbike, let me know (esp. if a part-trade with an excellent, unscratched bright yellow BWS50 w/under 3K km turns your crank or floats your boat)...

A steal at $2300. And it's not bad, for a motorcycle... if only they had put all the same technology, engine, gearbox, etc. in a scooter frame!
Thanks, John!
