Sylvan Lake

Post by nocattle »

Since many of us in the Apocalypse have graduated up out of the 50cc class, we're expanding our horizons. We're thinking now would be a good time to plan/organize a picnic with the Crudes in beautiful halfway (between hell and back) Sylvan Lake. I think it's about 2-2.5hrs from either direction. If we meet up at 11-11:30, go for a swim, eat, we can have you back to your responsibilities by dinner. Not sure if we can book a site/area to meet-up or if we should just wing it.
Name a date to meet up. We in the south prefer Sundays.

I like that idea. As to planning vs winging it, we could always ask whizzer to do a recce on our behalf and make a suggestion.

Not so sure about the swimming though. Nobody, and I mean NOBODY should have to see me in trunks. :-)

Keep the shiny side up.

As president of the Crude City SC, I think it is important to provide support for members. So I would like to say that I too don't want to see Trevor in trunks.

:-)

Everything else sounds like a great idea.

It's not like he's got excessive hair.

Or maybe that's where it all went.

Trevor in trunks can't be any worse than the Calgary boys in speed skating unitards (insert shiver here)..... then again, this is Trevor ....

I'm up for a get together.

I've checked with bylaws, and as long as your shots are up to date and licence is valid you should be ok. What type of facilities would you be looking for? I'll take a buzz out to the lake and check, there are a few private and public camp sites as well as lodging.

Dale, check for
#1 bar-bg pit
#2 picnic table(s)
#3 parking
I think that's all we require. Unless there are special requests. It doesn't have to get anymore complicated then booking a picnic site. I figure we meet up at 11-11:30 and will vacate somewhere around 2 or 3.

I'm looking at my calender and April 13 might be a little cool still. But if the weather is any thing near what has been recently I think we can handle it. If that date works for you, it works for me.

Ah to have the carefree winters of the Calgary. April 13 is still usually winter in these parts of the world.

I would be more inclined to push for May. But I am speaking for me, not the club.

May always seems to bring one last big dump of snow here in Confederate Alberta. And it's getting kinda close to the May24 weekend rally in Victoria.

Thinking. (Can you smell the woodchips burning?) Since April is still cold up in the Unionist States of Alberta... How about meeting up in a restaurant/pub somewhere along the Mason-Dixon line of SylvanLake-RedDeer instead of a picnic? Or do you think it's still too cold/dangerous to ride?

I'm just throwing out dates which work for me personally.

I don't mind repeating this trek a few times throughout the season.

I would love to go (regardless of what the actual plan or location is)...all of those weekends would work for me personally, except for May 4...as it is then that I will be learning to ride a motorcycle.

I'm considering buying a harley and a bandana shortly afterwards.

Cheers

You can get Chinese made HOG wear in vinyl for 1/2 the price of leather. Heck, I think the China has genuine bonafide fake Harley's too.

I love the scooter comment after... http://www.totallycrap.com/videos/video ... _davidson/

I'm so disappointed.

Would it make you feel better if I told you I was actually more interested in buying another scooter? One that isn't twist and go? You know I would never go to the darkside. You HAVE to know... ^_^

I don't know about scooterists and motorcyclists but I do know about riders and posers. Audrey may like her finery but she is no poser!!
