So i got a kevlar belt for my scooter and the stock size is 17.5. I got an 18 thinking it would work but WRONG.
When we put it on it kept kicking off the electric starter wheel. My friend told me it is because the pulley sheave or boss has been restricted and I should get a new one or conversely i could just use the stock belt.
If the wider belt does help with performance then i would like to use it but I wonder how true it is.
Would increasing the size of the belt help much? Is getting a newer pulley sheave better?
As well it turns out the stock belt might be 16.5 from what i read elsewhere. These koreans scooters seem to have a lot of varied info out there. The distributer says one thing the book another and manuals online another still.
I guess the best thing is to just measure it with some calipers.
Does belt width impact performance?
