Rims

Post by Sowelu »

I'm looking at replacing the rim for my back tire on Tiki and I'm a bit lost. Is there a difference between a tireless rim and and a regular rim other than price and the type of brake I'm using?

I've narrowed the search down to the following:

Any of those would do though I'm not a fan of chrome rims. Much easier to clean a painted rim.

You do not want "tubeless" rims. The one piece tubeless rims SIP (and others) sell make it very difficult to mount tires. I bought a set once and have been throwing them away as the tires wear out.

Put a shot of "Slime" tire sealant into your tubes and you'll get a nice slow leak if you get a puncture -- rather than the usual blow-out.

Thanks John. I'm going with the non chrome rim.
