Scooter sightings
I just got to Belgium today. Sun and cloud, 8-10 C. Naturally, there are students on scooters everywhere...
scoots
Nothing vintage so far--but tons of Asian scooters, charming European mopeds and smallest motorcycles, basically student specials, and the odd motorcycle. There would be more in summer--6 degrees is cold by local standards!
But I did eat dinner at an outdoor cafe (outdoors it was, heaters and blankets notwithstanding...).
Will report on vintage sightings, of course!

...and then buys a Lambretta so he can hear his bones rattling?redbike wrote:Loved Belgium although it was a lifetime ago; loved Maui too - much more recent. The travels of an ever-aging man, perhaps? In his youth, does the Grand Tour, but as his joints begin to deteriorate, he reposes in more accommodating climes? Probably. No matter, to both of you, enjoy!

Conversation overheard on an Edmonton city street, summer 2013. "Geez, what the hell is that noise. It sounds like two skeletons fucking on a hot tin roof?" "That? Oh that's just Johnny Redbike on his Lambretta. The noise lets him know two things. One, that it's still running and two, that he's still running"Angelo wrote:...and then buys a Lambretta so he can hear his bones rattling?redbike wrote:Loved Belgium although it was a lifetime ago; loved Maui too - much more recent. I can think of worse ways to make noise. Oh, and damn jealous of the world travelers. I haven't been to Belgium even though I was short listed to spend 4 years there. Loved Maui. Did some scuba diving, snorkeling on the white sand beaches and spent days on the black sand beaches. Should have tried to learn how to surf. Maybe next time.
Keep em shiny kids.
