Slip slidin' along

Post by redbike »

Fished the scoot out the back alley and went for a short ride yesterday. Main roads are fine. No hurried inputs is all. Ended up at the Italian Centre shop. Gonna go again today when it warms up a bit. Anyone else in for some fun?

I've been rather regretting missing the opportunity to bring my scoot to Kelowna. Someone here's been riding a Vino to school every day for the past 6 weeks. Not to mention not having snow all up into December of last.

It was a lovely ride down through the river valley and up 99 th to the cafe. Stopped for a sandwich and coffee in the sun. Lots of well wishers and others interested in an almost 40 year old scoot. First of many rides to come this season. Happy bunny-thumping to all.

Trying to survive the roads in Fort St. John where our SUV is dwarfed amungst the F350s if the world!! I think if I lived here that I wouldn't
Be able to brave these roads in a scooter. If alberta is truck country
Then I think I have found were the queen bee of lifted full sized trucks
Squirts them out!

Hardly any trucks over here in Victoria. However, though the weather may make this scooter heaven, the drivers are maddeningly slow and inattentive. People turn left from the right lane, fall asleep at traffic lights and often seem to have their minds otherwise occupied. I'd go postal for sure if I lived here.

Nice to be riding three days in a row, but it is still kinda cool, so just short distances. We could use another 10 degrees for optimum enjoyment. Still, nice to be riding at the very end of March!

alleyways

Our alley is still so clogged with ice that it will be days before I can get a bike out to the street--and then I can't put it back in the garage for a while. I think I'll just wait...

I tried. I braved the snow, gravel, and river in front of my house. It didn't take long to discover that there is much work with the jetting on lefty. The carb has changed, the exhaust, the high flow filter, blah blah blah.....It will have to wait until it warms up and there is no ice left, but at least she runs.....

Saw some street cleaners out today! If it stays clear enough I say we should try and meet up this Sunday. If not this weekend, the following Sunday should be even better!

Never put off till next Sunday what you could do this Sunday... If there is no more snow between now and then, I think we should plan for a ride. Anyone. Anyone?
