Progress continues apace:
- the front inner foot-wells are glassed
- the body is attached to the rear frame loop in two places as per original
Next for me:
- glass in dash/console
- cover chassis "tunnel" with sound/heat suppressing material
- prep firewall and interior pieces and jury rig into position
For our next workshop:
- glass in firewall and interior pieces
This will involve a fair bit of glassing and I'd appreciate some help. Normally I can only do small sections at a time and I have to clean up the tools between each batch. This makes for slow work. If I had two or three helpers, I could give each a task and I could just keep laying in fabric and coating with the resin. That way we'd be done lickety-split.
I'm still working out when the workshop would be but I'll post notice soon.
Lotus update #3432

Today I got the big pieces in and secured, by either rivet or bolt. Pushed it outside and gave the shop and the Europa a good blow out. Now that everything is secured, I'll push it back out tomorrow and feather all the edges where we'll be fibreglassing. That way the dust will be outside and the air I breathe a wee bit less polluted.
Tomorrow I hope to:
- tidy up the fibreglass edges in the engine bay,
- feather all the edges,
- line everything up and secure in position with sheet alloy and screws, and,
- fibreglass in the console/dash.
That will leave for Sunday:
- fibreglass in all the prepped pieces,
- fit wooden guide blocks for the presently flailing-about driveshafts,
- fit the steering column and steering wheel, and,
- turn it around so the front faces out as the flat deck taking it to the painter is coming Monday morning at 10:30!

I got it all done, and, of course, found more that needs doing! Thankfully it can wait until after the body is done and back. There's a crack between the dash and the a-pillar. It's not serious as it not external and it is still attached, but, if you push very hard, it will flex. The dash is secured but will require filling, sanding and refinishing. The drink and wild women will have to wait a were bit longer.
I also found a simple way to keep the drive shafts from flailing about so scratch one of tomorrow's jobs.
Long day though...
