Bike Show this weekend!

Post by jbcollier »

I'm not sure I'm going to make it but the new, limited-edition Vespa 46 will be there.

I read in two different publications that the 946 would be at the MC show.

So, I went on Friday looking for the Vespa 946 and found a big poster of one :? at the Alberta Cycle display area. Made some inquires, and looked everywhere....hope someone else finds it and posts their thoughts on the new look.

I would have been just a little upset going through the effort and it not being there!

Maybe I arrived too early (it had just opened) and it was a late arriving.
Lots of other nice ride to look at though!

Monica and I went to the show today (Sunday afternoon) and were hoping to see the new Vespa as well. We ended up at the booth near the end of our tour of the show and were disappointed that the only thing they had was a poster of the new Vespa. I asked a rep where it was hoping we just missed it but he informed us that it is a special order item. They won't even bring one into their showroom because it is so expensive (I think he said about $9000) let alone the show. Was pretty disappointed to hear those statements from our local Vespa "dealer".

It was featured in the Journal as one of the bikes that would be on display. Sorry for leading everyone astray.

No worries John, we would have most likely gone anyway. It was the Journal and whatever other publications printed that info which led us all astray. I wonder where the Journal got their info?

Just perused the Edmonton Motorcycle Show info and found this tidbit...

http://edmontonmotorcycleshow.com/news/

The 2014 Vespa 946 will be on display at this year’s Show. For the first time in Vespa history the structure is made of welded steel embellished with elements in aluminum alloy. The lighter weight is more energy efficient resulting in lower fuel consumption and emissions. It features a single cylinder 125cc 4 stroke 3 value air cooled engine with electronic injection which is state of the art technology in scooter engines.

---

The Sun and Journal probably just picked this info off of the website to write their stories.

For those wanting to see the unboxing of actual Vespa 946's at Blackfoot Motorsports in Calgary, check out their Facebook album. (Nice pics!). I assume that they probably had a 946 at the Calgary Motorcycle Show since they unboxed their two Vespa 946's 2 months ago.
