New member intro & acceleration issues

Post by andrea.t »

Hey! My name's Andrea and I'm in Edmonton - I recently purchased a 2007 LX150. It's been a lot of fun and I'm happy to meet other scooter riders.

Recently, I had my carbs cleaned by Alberta Cycle due to a broken float needle and (subsequent) flooded engine. When I got it back from them, my bike did not drive well. It takes ~3 blocks to accelerate from 0-40 and maxes out at 60km/h on flat, 40km/h on a hill with the throttle wide open. When it's on the stand, it accelerates fine, but as soon as you sit on it/have any resistance, it loses power. Has anyone else had a problem like this? They said that it would take 2 wks for my bike to be serviced, even though I just had it in there and there were not any problems like this until I got it back from them :-(

Overall, the customer service I've received has been lacking, to put it nicely. Does anyone have any recommendations for mechanics?

Thanks!

I could have a look at it for you. I'm in the university area.
