Just got home, parked the Vespa in the garage... It's making this sort of weird groaning noise that it hasn't made before. I know that's pretty vague. It sort of groans, and then quits for a few seconds, and then does it again, and the noise is on a pretty consistant rhythm. Any idea/answer what the noise is, should I be worried (rather, can I stop being worried?) It ran fine on the way home, and all my gauges showed to be normal to what they normally are...
Okay.
Cheers!

It's water cooled right? If so, it may be the rad cooling fan cycling in and out because it is so warm out. Should stop after five minutes or so.

tsk...I said the scooter was making noise, not me! ^_^
Was reading about similar freak outs on modernvespa.com, and every option as to what it was is very benign. Don't worry all, you can sleep easy tonight! ha

When I get ridden on a hot day for hours, I make those sounds too.

Audrey,
Check the pet carrier for pets. I think they want out now.

I actually did right after I rode. They were lying very quietly and still. Kind of worried me, but they were warm, so they must be alive.

hi audrey,
i have heard those same groans from the bee on a hot day before. it seizes after awhile. can't say when the last time was that i heard it, but it seems to me that it was happening more frequently when the bee was still new.
nothing ever happened that i felt was connected to the noises, so after a while i stopped worrying.
imagine no more winters...
