Bjorn's Food Truck -- The Dog

Post by Paul S »

Bjorn closed his restaurant "The Dog" and turned it into a Food Truck. I spotted it on the corner of a service road at 34 Ave and 91 St during the week at least.

It is on my route to work so I may stop in one day for lunch.

Any one else in the area that wants to meet there for lunch one day?

I'm pretty sure i saw it the other day up on 118th ave just east ish of 170th street. I did a double take when driving by. Something looked wildly familiar but could not place it at all.

Now i know.

Dog is closed due to unrealistic demands made by landlord at lease renewal time. Sloppy Hoggs sold shortly thereafter and is now operated by someone else. Bjorn and Brenda (?) now exclusively a food truck operation. I think they're enjoying the reduced pressures.

That's too bad about the restaurants, glad they are still cooking and enjoying the reduced pressures with the food truck.

And for all the Celiacs in the group - they have GF buns, gravy, a dedicated GF fryer (YAY!) and that means… POUTINE!

I was going to plan a Scooter Food Truck crawl event one Saturday or Sunday in July or August. The MisFyt's are interested in joining us for that one and it would be open to anyone to come.

I think the first Food Truck we will hit is Bjorn's of course!

I have wanted to do this for the last 2 years but my weekends are almost always busy so I never managed to get it together enough to organize it.

I think this coming season though we should do this one Saturday or Sunday. We have some amazing food trucks in Edmonton. Maybe something to do early on in the season?

I could only do one or two food trucks a day. May be spread it out over a number of rides?

He was operating this summer. I tried to set something up with him but he did a lot of weekends at festivals and events this past summer.
