I guess that squares it. Lambretta didn't die a slow and painful death because they made an inferior or unreliable product. The company folded like a cheap suit because their marketing guys were smoking the 70s equivalent of crack. (John, little help here, what would that have been )
Is it coincidence that you can pull Beta (as in sony betamax) out of the lambretta name. Good product, moron marketing.

Yes I can't argue the fact that their marketing was...well....interesting to say the least. Many great machines throughout history died a slow death, but also like many great machines Lambretta's left their mark......
