Some ss90 good news

Post by jbcollier »

Yippee! The cylinder and piston from Italy arrived today and they are genuine ss90 parts. Whew, that is a relief as it is damn hard to be sure when all you have are web shots and Italian dialect filtered through AltaVista.

What with my orders from SIP, Roller and Motosports, I'll have the engine together soon.

I was also missing the crank but it is the same crank as a second series Primavera (VMA2T). I decided to go with an after-market "race" crank for more intake duration. SS90s were only fast when compared to a normal 90 (boat anchors have been know to go faster) and a series one Primavera (ask Kevin how slow his was originally) so a little more duartion will help me to keep Angelo in sight!

John,
Glad to hear that it was a good score on the piston and goodies. If I recall correctly the price was right as well!......as far as keeping me in sight, well.....My Lammy isn't a TS1 but it will defineatly kick a stock one's ass....you my friend build quick scooters.....I'll have to get spy shots of you in training on the SS before I challenge you

Ciao

Naw, you should smoke me as the most a ss90 makes is about 5.1 hp. With the greater crank duration and, perhaps, a bit more compression, I might see 5.5 if I am lucky.

I wish the cylinder had been cheap! It cost about the same as an M1 kit. It's the rarest of the rare though so I am just happy to have it.
