Woman on cell phone 1, Shannon and scooter 1/2.

Post by Sowelu »

So I had a bit of an accident in Calgary at the rally. I'm fine ... the scoot has minor scratches, but the body as popped out of it's clips just a bit. All I need to is loosen the bolts and pop everything back into place. The challenge ... I have two bolts that require an extra long screwdriver to reach them. I can't for the life of me tell you what type of screwdriver as I can't see the bolts properly. I seem to remember that when John installed my heated hand grips he had to add something to the screwdriver at his shop to reach them. (Nothing like making a simple repair one of the most difficult things to do. )

Can anyone help me with this quick fix?

I am off to Jasper for a week starting this morning. If no one else has a long enough screwdriver, I can arrange for my boss to lend you one tomorrow. Call me tonight on my cell (six, six, eight, twelve, seventy)

hahahahah ...

I took a better look at the screws that need to be loosen to pop the body back, I will need a phillips screwdriver that is approx 8 1/2 to 9 inches long to reach the screws.

Graham - the scoot is rideable, I rode it for the rest of the rally. (The run in with the car was Sat afternoon.) I would just like to get it fixed before the East Meets West Festival.

John - Thanks, I think the thing that was hurt the most was my pride. I would feel a bit guilty getting to arranging for me to meet up with your boss, so I'm going to see if Angelo or Graham have the what I need.

Thanks for everyone's help.

Thanks Angelo.

Graham, perhaps you could take a look at my scoot to see if you do have a screwdriver to fit at the Top Gear Ride?

Thanks everyone for your help. It turns out with some tinkering I didn't need the screwdriver after all.

I even managed to fix my throttle that stuck after the accident. Thanks again Igor and Graham for the advice. It turns out that it wasn't dirty, it turns out the hand grip had been moved just a bit from the accident. I loosen the bolts moved the grip back in place and it now it works like a charm.
