Change Date Sun Aug 30th Ride After 1pm Meet at Tra Amici

Post by Cgreeno »

Weather pending, some of us have decided to ride out to Prairie Gardens for their Fairy Berry Festival. We intend on going out after the club meet at Tra Amici on Sunday August 30th. Everyone is welcome and please join us as it should be lots of fun.

Prairie Gardens is an award-winning 35-acre destination greenhouse, strawberry & pumpkin farm with a 7 acre Corn Maze located a quick 30 minute scooter ride from the city centre airport, north of Edmonton on 97 street, near Bon Accord, AB.

August 22 to 25th, Prairie Gardens is hosting their 2009 Fairy Berry Festival, along with celebrating their 25th anniversary.

In commemoration of this special event, they are providing free birthday cake, prizes galore, and twenty five acres of cornfusing fun! The maze is a huge cornfield, with four km of trails, mystery locations and secret letters. There is also a farm where you can enjoy petting bunnies, wagon rides, mini mazes, ‘gem’ mining, home-made shortcakes and veggie kebabs, famous Foothills Creamery ice cream cones campfire sites, and other farm attractions.

I don't know if there would be any interest to those in the club but I thought it would be nice to throw this out there to see if anyone would be interested in riding out?

Maybe we could do it on the Sunday? Angelo - do you have any more info on the Saturday East/West gathering?

Hi Christine,
Some of the information was posted here. I can't make the decision on when we are going to meet or anything alone. It has to be a group effort.
I'm going to show up for a couple of hrs. They want us to show up as close to 10.00am as possible and we can set up across the street from Italian center shop.

Still waiting to hear back from Club members if they want to ride and deliver the money to"dogs with wings" on Saturday.

I would like to drop the donation off as a group and would be glad to meet early to do so.

Still waiting to hear back from Club members if they want to ride and deliver the money to"dogs with wings" on saturday. So far no interest, no responses. No big deal I will drop it off myself.

Angelo

Hey Angelo, given the East meets West event will take place before our next club meeting, unless someone is following the blogs closely the risk is that some people miss out on this opportunity because they don't have all the details and in turn you get a poor turn out. I know this should be a consensus thing, but I throw it out there to have someone like yourself take the bull by the horns and set an exact time / place to show up this Saturday. As well, in order to get the word out on the details of the event, we may need to contact people in addition to the blog postings.

James and I can be there for 10:00 am, but if you can provide an exact address as we are not familiar with the Italian Centre Shops, that would be great.

Also - we are very willing to go along with the drop off for the dogs with wings initiative. I have to be honest that I am not familiar with the charity but it sounds good. Let me know if you need any help with anything as I am more than willing (and hopefully capable!!!)

In terms of the possible ride to Bon Accord, this would not take place until Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, etc... so there is time to chat at the next club meeting about what people want to do, if there is an interest.

Cheers,

Christine
