EAST meets WEST - August 22nd

Post by Angelo »

The East meets West event is scheduled for this Saturday August 22nd across from the Italian center ship @ 10878- 95 Street. The street will be closed off for this event but we will be allowed to ride in, so it would be best If we arrive as a group. The Event starts at 10.00am and continues all day. I’m think it would be better to show up later to avoid some of the craziness At first and to follow through on the stereo type that all scooterists are always late anyways. It is completely everyone’s choice on how long they want to stay. The muster point will be the A&W on Kingsway (109 street & Kingsway Avenue) @ 10.00am.
Departing at 10.30am, it’s a short ride from there.

Hey everyone,
Slight change of plans. I was in touch with Johnny "redbike" this evening and we coordinated a time and place that we can hand over the club donation for "dogs with wings" We will be meeting at John's place at 9.30am where we will take a few pictures as a group and then move on to the east meets west celebration as a group from there. John will be joining us for the ride to the park as his wrist is getting stronger. I'm going to post John's address and home number in the members section.
It would be great to see as many of the crudes as possible for this event.

Cheers
Angelo

So it's looking more and more like I'll be completely unable to make this event. :\ I'm really bummed out by this because I was quite looking forward to it. I hope everyone that does make it has a blast!

Doubly disappointed that I'm missing RedBike's first club ride of the season, too.

cheers all

Graham (PK50) is the keeper of the group. He is supposed to add members to it as they pay up.

I've added both of you just now, so your good to go.

I would like to thank everyone that participated in todays activities. Finally dropping off the donation to John for "dogs with wings" and spending time as a group at the East meets West festival. It's always good seeing you all and sharing good food and drink together.

Cheers

The event was lots of fun...Great idea Angelo. I especially like the part where the big guy sat on Shannon's bike!

Great times today. It was nice to hang with the Crudes at a different location.

Who knew that my Japanimation bike would draw so much attention. So much attention that someone sat on it without asking so that he could have his picture taken. Did anyone get a pic of the guy? Who does that? Really? Sit on a bike without asking. People.

CRUDES CRUISE ABOVE THE CROWD!!!

Post by redbike »

Not only was it a genuine pleasure to see old acquaintances again and to meet some new members in the comfortable surroundings of little Italy, but then I had the pleasure of coming home to pick up the envelope that Angelo had passed over to me.

You will never get to meet our clients, of course, and they will never know how great a bunch of people you are, but somewhere in Alberta, a child or adult living with a serious disability will get the benefit of your very kind gift.

On their behalf, and on behalf of all of us at Dogs with Wings Assistance Dog Society, thanks to you all!

It will take a little time to get it up on our website, but eventually a pic of the presentation will make it on there. I haven't had any luck posting it to this site, but will email it to Angelo so you can all have a look-see.

The wrist seemed to do pretty well today, and I am personally looking forward to tearing it up with you lot again just as soon as I can.

Thank you, sincerely; thank you!
