Does anyone know where you can take helmets to get recycled?

The shell is fiberglas and I don't think it is recyclable.

i have no idea, but i feel certain that you could probably donate the helmet to either one of the motorcycle training programs or possibly top gear (or another place that does rentals). just a thought...

I am sure a place like Sally Anne or any thrift store would take it:-)

Normally this would be my first choice, but these are helmets that are no longer safe to use. I was hoping to find a place that would recycle them instead of throwing them in the garbage. My biggest worry is that someone will see them in the garbage and take them thinking that they are okay/safe to wear. There are some very dumb kids in my neighbourhood.

What a great idea! I never thought of that.

Write "This helmet has been pissed in" with a sharpie. It ain't classy, but no one who can read is going to put it on their head.
If you can't chrome it, curry it.
If you can't curry it, throw it away.
