No ride for me. The scoot won't start.
I figured as much. It is just too cold right now. It will probably start this afternoon once it warms up. I guess it is time to put it away.

Will do. It looks like I have a project for this afternoon.jbcollier wrote:Make sure you run the old fuel down. Put in fresh fuel with stabilizer and ride in around for at least a couple of klicks before putting it to bed.

Thanks John for offering to come and jump start my bike to get it running. I really appreciate it.

Now...stale gas? In October? Come on Shannon. Ride that thing all season long like a rented mule. Make excuses to ride. I know, easy for me at 20C on Oct 31 but you know I would be riding hard if I was there. And you have heated hand grips. Get on it girl.

Vy is it vee get too soon olt and too late schmart?
I wish. I've just haven't had time since school started. This year seems way too busy. I haven't been to a meeting since sometime in the summer. I suck at being a scooterist this year.

Soooo the scoot still won't start. I figure it is the spark plug again as it is doing the same thing it did at the start of season. It wants to start and almost starts then dies. It was running a little rough and stalled a few times at the Calgary rally. No big deal as I already knew it need to go in for servicing, for other things, just before the start of next season. I've parked it and will try again tomorrow to see if it will start, if not, it will have to wait until next season. My scoot season has officially come to a close.

Get a table lamp or desk lamp (halogen or incandescent, not fluorescent) Stick it under the scoot and drape a blanket over it for an hour or two. Watch it to make sure it doesn't get too hot.
Now try to start it.
If it starts, warm it up and ride it until the tank is empty and fill with fresh fuel. Should be OK after that.
If it doesn't start, ping me and we'll swap the plug. I think I have some spare here.
I am thinking we'll have one more ride before this season is done and it would be nice to have you along!

I'll give that a try tomorrow. I hear it's suppose to be a bit warmer. Thanks for the info John. I really appreciate it ... even if I've be a little delinquent at attending meetings.

Yep, pretty sure it is the spark plug ... again. I did the blanket and light trick and it almost started a few times, but wouldn't stay started. I definitely need to get it serviced.
