Yesterday the GS left the security of my garage for body and paint work.
I hope it will not be too long of a stay away, but it could be months. The goal is to only have done what needs to be done, preserving some of the original patina, but bring it back to the original factory colour.......the waiting will be the hard part, it's always the hard part!

Slowly, very slowly some painted parts are returning. It took a while to colour match the paint to the original small sections that were untouched on the frame, but Its as close as it will ever be (9 seperate paint cards were mixed!) Hopefully the rest won't take as long, but as long as it is done right I will wait as long as it takes...

Took advantage of my visitation rights today and spent some quality time with my parts. I'm blessed to have people working on my scooter that actually love their work. They started with a fairly straight scooter but have put so much effort in bring it back to it's former glory. Primer by the
end of the week and Paint the following week. Uber excited!

So I concede to the fact that when it comes to easy of working on or rebuilding a scooter that the Vespa is far simiplier than the other name brand which I love dearly BUT! After 6hrs and 24 aluminium rivets carefully being pounded into posiition on 6 floor channels I have determined that all designs are flawed in one way or another...
....All fingers are still in place and no damage to the paint work. Time to sit back and sip on some single malt as I count my blessings!

Tonight it came back to life again! and a new chapter in its existance began. Hopefully if all goes well the OPI will be completed in a few weeks.
We all know what a great guy John is, always willing to help anyone in need. Quite frankly I owe alot to John, Without his expertise and countless hrs helping me get this Scooter back to as original as possible, this Vespa would not be on the road this year. Thank you kindly my friend.
Cheers
